Well, this is it - the last jobs! On Tuesday 23rd August, we took delivery of the plaque which settled a few nerves! After a quick chance to give it a good look over, the following day saw Noel, John Colver and myself giving the entire site a good clean over; clear surplus stone (no injuries this time!), weeding and good sweep!
Thanks to a very generous friend, we were able to use his generator and drill for drilling out the holes for the plaque.
Despite a problem with drilling the holes fractionally too large, this was overcome by a handy local who fashioned copper sleeves for the bolts, which means they are now properly secure. They worked as advertised and expanded to fill the space available!
All that remained was to make sure everything was in place for the big day!
